I
confess... I have a thing for rabbits! I can't
explain it; I simply have always taken great
delight in them. I enjoy their cheerful, good
company in my studio. We've no real ones, but a
plentiful variety of others, peering down from
shelves, sunbathing on windowsills. It's no
surprise, then, that they often appear in my
drawings, either in starry roles or as playful
interlopers off in the corner. I know, now, that I
am not alone in this. Many of my collectors have
confessed to their bunny collections and I listen,
"all ears!" I have been tickled to hear of the
extent of many of them, including a six foot
stuffed rabbit butler on roller skates who "serves"
in the dining room of one of my collectors! How
wonderful!
