I've a
child's fascination with flight. Part of me believes that we
must surely be able to take wing and soar! My leaps from the
couch as a five-year-old may not have gotten me very far in
physical flight, but the believing allowed me to keep
trying. My imagination has never failed to propel me. I'm
certain you feel the same. Its a longing we
share.
We do
fly.

Now
we fly every time we stretch to take on an
experience outside of our familiar comfort zone. We
fly when our confidence is healthy and whole. We
fly when our believing allows us to glimpse
something that others would never think possible.
We fly when we release ourselves from the
gravity-of-life.

We
fly when we love... we love when we fly.

The image of
taking wing is a powerful metaphor. It brings to mind
thoughts of personal strength in mind, body and spirit.
Flying exemplifies freedom. It celebrates faith. You'll see
reference to it again and again in my artwork. Sometimes it
will be the entire heart of the image. Sometimes it's no
more than a subtle aside... but often, very often, something
will fly! -Joy Wallace
